About Us.
Unlike the common perception, providing a helping hand in the upliftment of society and protecting our environment doesn't require huge investments to begin with. Even a small contribution with a kind heart will make a big difference. This has been the most important lesson this pandemic has taught us, which also gave birth to the Sharanagati Foundation in May 2021.
Our organization has been involved in distributing food to the needy, a most basic necessity which became a luxury for many during these Covid times. Nearly 5,000 people have benefitted through our Food Distribution program.
These are some challenging times for the food growers (Farmers) of India. They face dual task of providing quality food grains, vegetables and fruits amidst highly expensive agricultural practices. This prompted us to educate them in intelligent & affordable farming techniques through our Welfare of the Farmers and Farming sector program that encourages toxin free cultivation.
Our nature, our environment is the basis of our existence which requires nurturing and protection to ensure survival of all species. Rising levels of pollution, unprecedented climatic changes, loss of habitats for humans and animals alike are all examples of our ignorant & lackadaisical attitude. It's our duty as citizens to take initiative for its development according to our capabilities rather than depending on Governmental action. Our Environment Protection initiative has helped in restoring our surrounding nature by increasing green cover in the highly concretized urban landscape, restoring vanishing water bodies, animal rearing and fish farming.
Upliftment of Women and underprivileged sections of our society has been another major focus area of Sharanagati Foundation. Women face a range of issues in their socio-economic development and growth. We aim to empower them through basic education, entrepreneurial skills and employment for a self-sustained existence.
A helping hand in the time of crisis is the need of the hour. Our Disaster Response program is one such initiative based on this belief. Our Team Sharanagati has been there where it mattered the most.
The Skills Development & Vocational Training program is an initiative to train and upskill the youth for a sustainable livelihood. It aims to guide the youths from urban as well as rural areas and engage them in the mainstream working industry. This would help in steering them away from criminal tendencies making them responsible citizens of the future.
